Defining a Writer in a Writing Class
When it comes to crafting a decent definition, there are many options. However, finding out the best ones will mean you have a full understanding of what you are getting into. This is often the only step to truly getting your student into college. Whether it is with a writing class or just for the classroom, they are going to need something to bring to the class and determine whether they are going to be able to succeed.
Many students aren't really sure what is important to them, or how much of a part their professor will play in determining that. In some cases, you might need more than one definition to do this. This can be a bit of a lengthy process, but it is well worth it when you get it right. It might be useful to start by asking your professor to tell you what his or her definition of a writer is. This is not as critical as you might think, since this is more of a personal choice and not something set in stone.
